Most of the best real country music these days is coming from guys in Kentucky and the Texas Country music scene. We’ve featured Kolby Cooper on here before but he might be the biggest up and coming guy from Texas along with Parker McCollum and Koe Wetzel to hit the national stage soon. Only 20 years old Cooper has already released two EPs and today he released his first full length album called Good Ones Never Last. Needless to say, his music is great.
He doesn’t sound like a 20 year old when you first hear him, and without knowing that you’d probably think he was a seasoned vet in Country Music. His music is also notably very mature for a genre that has 40 year old guys singing about picking chicks up in college bars (not that some of the songs don’t get the toes going a bit). According to iTunes if I’m doing this right, Cooper wrote or co-wrote at least 10 of the 14 songs on the album.
If you’re a fan of real country music that’s got a bit of a rocking edge, I highly suggest grabbing this album taking a listen after checking out a few of the highlighted songs below. And while you’re at it, go grab his other two EP’s Vol. 1 -EP, and Good Ones Never Last, Pt. 1 – EP
