If you watch Westworld you may get this reference. Basically Urban Meyer is about to do the same thing he did at Florida, all over again.
Remember when Urban Meyer “retired” from Florida as the head coach because of health reasons? What did he do after that? Color Commentary guy at ESPN for College Football, and from what I remember he was pretty decent. And then the next year, he left and became the Head Coach at Ohio State. Well folks, were back to step two of the Urban Meyer loop: Work on TV.
This fall, college football’s biggest stars are on FOX 🌟
FOX Sports unveils the lineup for its new college football pregame show featuring Urban Meyer, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn and host Rob Stone.

It looks like not only will Urban be teaching leadership classes at Ohio State for less than a year, but he’ll also be on TV for Fox Sports College Football Coverage, which is pretty damn good I might say. And I don’t doubt that this new lineup will do very well. I’ll tune into to them to compare it to ESPN College Game Day. Might even like it better.
First his Ohio State team is pretty dog shit for the whole year, compare to Meyer and Ohio State standards while he’s been there, and then he has all these “health” problems come up and he’s collapsing on sidelines holding his head while his team in a close game against a pretty bad Maryland team.
So he announced his retirement, and then Ohio State played their best game of the year against Michigan, beat Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship, and then beat Washington in the Rose Bowl. Funny, don’t remember seeing Urban unhealthy during those games.
After the Rose Bowl we entered into:
Step 1 of Urban Meyers loop: Retire from a great job where he’s been very successful at because of health reasons.
Step 2: Work in media. (check)
Step 3: Miss the game, the players, the relationships. (Late October)
Step 4: Feel healthy (Mid November)
Step 5: Get rumored to be in the running for a high profile gig (USC, Notre Dame)
Step 6: Get hired at a high profile gig (USC)
I would like to officially announce that Urban Meyer is well on his way to being the head coach at USC. Congrats Pac 12, in 2021 you will have a legitimate playoff contender.
