Texas Country Thursday: Parker McCollum

Texas Country featuring Parker McCollum. Click to check out a big about the Country Music songwriter and singer residing in Austin, TX.

Well we missed Texas Country last Thursday but today we’ll feature one of my favorites I’ve stumbled upon, Parker McCollum from Conroe, Texas.

McCollum sound is that of a classic Texas country twang, and I love it.  The first time I saw a picture of him I thought it would something more on the rock side of country but his music is much more traditional country.  Go check out his song “Things Are Looking Up” if you don’t believe me.

McCollum came out with his first album The Limestone Kid in 2015 and had some success on Texas country radio with the song “Meet in the Middle”. That album, has some other dandies on it you should go check out.

McCollum has recently found more success since then and has released his second album, Probably Wrong, almost exactly a year ago.  Although the album didn’t vault him to stardom it helped him get noticed in Nashville, because in May of this year McCollum signed to Warner/Chappell Nashville Publishing.  This singing should help his songwriting get noticed more in the country music scene, as it deserves to be.

Currently McCollum is on tour throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and a few east coast stops.  Wish he’d come up north for some shows, you can check out the dates, locations, and more here:

I also just saw he will be doing a tour with Koe Wetzel in December! Lucky fuckers.
